The Cholesterol Limit

Mythbusting Cholesterol.

For decades the USA diet advisory committee recommended that people should eat no more than 300 milligrams of Cholesterol per day; which is about one and half egg yolks!  The basis of this advice was that Cholesterol was associated with Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) because cholesterol was a major component of the plaque that builds up in the walls of Coronary Arteries (atherosclerosis) which can result in a heart attack or stroke. In 2015 USA removed this advice due to lack of evidence and the understanding that if we don’t eat cholesterol our cells make it and vice versa. So go ahead and eat the eggs and cheese, but remember if you overeat any food it is unhealthy!

So What is all this stuff about Bad and Good Cholesterol.
